Mario's Galactic Adventure Preview Arrives, Introducing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that highlighted the soon-to-release cartoon movie.
The follow-up to the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the outer limits of the cosmos. In his journey, he meets a new princess and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Space-Faring Quest Based on Classic Games
Similar to the Wii-era games that provide its foundation, Mario will leave behind the well-known surroundings of the Mushroom Kingdom to travel across the galaxy. On his epic voyage, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, such as the Luma, a breakout star from the original cinematic release.
But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's angry little boy, who apparently commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Come Back and Grow
The film will feature once again of the initial voice actors, with Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.
Mario's Major Moment
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is set to release close to the 40-year celebration of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 promises to be a important time for Mario and his companions.
The company has a set of three fresh titles officially announced for that year, including Mario Tennis Fever, a release on Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a new Yoshi platformer titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Release Date Confirmed
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially set to be released on April 3, 2026.
