Exploring a Unique Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Turdy Character with the Goal to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and enthusiasts have discovered numerous engaging creations from small studios. But, one stands out for its quirky concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure features a protagonist that is literally a piece of poop attempting to travel to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

Player controls is simple: press a jump control. Throughout numerous challenges, battle boss fights and visit a store to acquire outfits for your poop character.

Execute your jumps carefully, as a mistake forces beginning again. Jump using bubbles to launch the poop to new heights, navigate crumbling surfaces, and touch switches to open new areas. Earn coins for buying tougher game content in which the action intensifies.

Visually, the experience features vibrant level designs and catchy background music. Its minimalist visual style with morphing geometric shapes could recall fans of beloved games like Earthbound.

Although difficult to name previous releases where you control a dung character, interactive entertainment frequently included toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, players craft throwables from character droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as plant food. And of course, fecal references appears extensively in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Regardless of its goofy concept, Unko Technica has already earned significant accolades, such as winning at a major publisher's indie contest in 2023. The demo is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version set to debut on Steam on November 19.
